Colorado Springs New Hire Pension Plan - Fire Component Forms

If you are a member of the Colorado Springs New Hire Pension Plan - Fire Component and wish to
- retire or
- purchase Service Credit.
We have put together all of the forms necessary to submit to FPPA. The forms have been bundled together along with easy to follow instructions as well as a check-list to aid in completing the packet.

Take a moment to read the descriptions of each forms packet listed below to make sure you are viewing the forms right for your situation.

  • For Normal, Vested or Early Retirement Packets
    The following 3 packets apply to members terminating for a:
    NORMAL RETIREMENT - (having at least 25 years of service and are age 55)
    VESTED SEPARATION - (having at least 10 years of service and an expected retirement benefit beginning at age 55) or an
    EARLY RETIREMENT - (having at least 20 years of service or are age 50)
    • Not Entering DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan)
      This packet applies to members who have NOT participated in the DROP and are now ready to leave the job.
    • Entering DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan)
      This packet applies to members who are applying for retirement and entering DROP.
    • Exiting DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan)
      This packet applies to members who have participated in the DROP and are now ready to leave the job and exit the DROP.
  • Purchasing Service Credit Packet
    This packet applies to active members of the Colorado Springs New Hire Pension Plan - Fire Component and wish to purchase service credit in THAT plan only. (Generally members hired between April 8, 1978 and September 30, 2006.)
