FPPA provides administrative services for affiliated volunteer fire departments across the state of Colorado.  For these plans, FPPA provides actuarial services, facilitates fund investments, and assists with retirements and benefit payments.

  • Odd-numbered years: 2025, 2027, 2029, etc.
  • Packets are mailed in January
  • Packet information must be received by March 1
  • Actuarial Study will be completed in July - September

Volunteer Plans Legislation 

Volunteer State Matching Funds

In 2004 the responsibility for the administration of the Volunteer Firefighter Pension State Contributions and the statewide volunteer firefighter accidental death and disability insurance policy (CRS 31-30-1101 et seq.) was transferred by SB 04-198 from the Fire & Police Pension Association (FPPA) to the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA).
