The Best Animal Rescues of 2025

A close-up of a curious kangaroo looking directly at the camera against a gray surface.
Remember me? A Durango kangaroo tried to make a great escape... again!

The call comes in. The details are... fuzzy (and at times, feathery!). From a pink poodle to a loose moose, 2025 delivered a full menagerie of emergency calls no one saw coming. In fact, we highlighted over 150 animal rescues on our Facebook page this year. In honor of our annual tradition dating back to 2018, we've highlighted the top 10 rescues in this year's roundup, five of which are from Colorado. We even have a "roo-peat" Colorado rescue to share—a kangaroo escape artist who made a break for it last year, and was captured yet again!

Read on for the best animal saves of 2025 in chronological order, handled by police officers, firefighters, and other first responders who proved yet again that helping others comes in all shapes and species.

Don't miss a very special bonus video at the end!
